Taking an internship with TakingITGlobal (TIG) has unequivocally been a unique experience. At your standard internship, you might need to show up by 9am, and getin trouble for being a few minutes late. At TIG, you can show up between 9:30-10:30 (realistically, sometimes 11), and as long as you work an 8-hour day, everyone is cool with it. Last week I had the opportunity to attend ‘Beyond 2015: Towards a New Consensus on Ending Global Poverty;’ a three-day international and interdisciplinary workshop at Ryerson University, in Toronto. And while there were many amazing, interesting and inspiring speakers, I really enjoyed listening to Dr. Joseph Wong, a Canada Research Chair and Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto, and the Director of the Asian Institute at the Munk School of Global Affairs.
